Samantha Lee BIO From the moment you hear Samantha’s voice and the natural sounds from her acoustic guitar, it is absolutely clear – she has a strong, unwavering love for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! The combination of her angelic and powerful voice, brilliant crisp lyrics, and perfectly matched guitar style is like no other. With some professional training and an unyielding practice schedule every single day since she was 12, she has become a master of her craft. Her interest in writing and composing became very apparent at an early age. Contemporary Christian music is what she grew up listening to; it became part of not only her life – but, her heart and soul! “Glorifying God with my music is effortless when you have an adoring love for him,” says Samantha. Her memory of a friend’s mother, who is also a singer/songwriter, is what truly inspired her to choose learning guitar and begin to compose – what would later become the soundtrack of her love for God!
It is undeniably clear that Samantha is passionate in everything she does. She has incredible support from all of her friends and her family. It is especially common that when you see Samantha, you hear and feel her too. Her parents continually comment about how often she is belting out melody around the house and where ever she goes. There is never a moment that goes by where she isn’t thinking about her music and how she can continue to glorify God through her words, actions, and musical compositions. Understanding how important her music has become, Samantha and her family decided to obtain a Christian artist manager. They all felt that it was important to take her music beyond the doors of her home, her school and her church. She has already gone into the studio with the thirty plus songs in her composition library, completed a professional photo shoot, and has obtained over 1,300 unique page views on MySpace.com all within the first month of taking on professional management. Even more impressive is logging over 22,500 visits to the very same site during the second month! Word is spreading incredibly fast.
It is very clear that God has called on Samantha to continue her work. She has felt a strong connection with Christ at a very young age and understands how important it is to live a positive and unselfish life. Samantha says, “I thank God for every positive experience I’ve had, as well as the difficult ones. Each of these occurrences has helped me to grow into the person and musician I am now.” Outside of her music – already at the young age of 16, Samantha has demonstrated truth on her Christian beliefs by travelling to both Mexico and Costa Rica to do mission work with her church. She has been humbled greatly by those trips, by understanding that God’s presence is strong and powerful in all parts of the world. Samantha is also no stranger to the stage. So far, during her impressive academic career, she has performed in several, music related productions – both at her school and at her church. During the summer of 2008, she also participated in her hometown’s version of American Idol. She successfully performed all the way up to the semi-finals of the competition. The future for Samantha Lee appears limitless. With her plans to get her music to all that will listen, she will continue to be a vessel for God’s message and his greatness through her writing and performing.
Samantha states, “One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” “This verse shows me that, no matter what, God has a plan. His intentions are always pure and with us in mind. I want to lift high the name of the Lord with the gifts he’s given me and let this generation know the love and forgiveness of the Almighty One.”
